Avonhead School will continue to organise the Enrolment Scheme ballot dates and advertisements for 2025 and beyond.

Please find a link to aGoogle Form which will collect information from school around intentions and general spaces for OOZ enrolments for 2025. We do apologise for the super short turnaround time for completing this form.
There are 3 options for schools to choose:
Schools wanting to advertise four ballots throughout the year – Due to the collective nature of the advertising, we have generally said “there are likely to be up to 10 ballot spaces available” We add that this may change due to in-zone applicants, so prospective families need to check with each school. This allows schools to have variation to that number, based on your individual situations.
Schools wanting to advertise a single ballot date for 2025 – Usually, schools advertise a ballot date for each term of the year. However, a few just advertise a single ballot date for the whole year and then create a waiting list. This ballot will be included in the Term 1, 2025 advert. We will continue to include schools who have held one ballot in the advertising every term, so families are aware
Schools with no ballot places available – Under the instructions from the Secretary, schools must also advertise that there are no ballot places available. Schools that indicate that they will have no places for 2025 will be added to each term’s advertisement to keep families informed.
Aligning dates for ballots for primary schools in the Greater Christchurch Area – to ensure we are aligned across all of our kura. Any schools that are looking to do their own advertising, it would be appreciated if these were done based on the ballot dates already set for 2025.
