Leading Neuroinclusive Schools: Sensory-Friendly Practices

Madelaine Armstrong Willcocks, the Head of Programmes at the Neurodiversity in Education Project, will explore how you as school leaders can take a systems approach towards being neuro-inclusive, with a particular look at the sensory environments of your schools. Building from basic neuroscience as well as student voice, this session will give you practical strategies for your neuro-inclusion across your school, adapting environments and systems, and supporting staff to be adaptive and flexible with neurodivergent learners.

Our Breakfast Connector follows the following format:

• 7:30am guests arrive, coffee / tea and breakfast on arrival

• 8:00am speaker session

• 9:00am session close

• 7.30am Wednesday 12th November

Our Business Partners fully support these events as an opportunity for principals to just be with each other. All of our Business partners practise this in their own workplaces – looking after the hauora and wellbeing of their own staff.

These sessions have become a very important part of our CPPA strategic pillars – Connect; Collaborate; Celebrate.

Please make time to come and connect with your peers who face similar challenges and celebrations in the job, and meet our new Principals and welcome them to our wonderful profession.

Last year we had great feedback about our ‘new style’ Christmas event. Come and hang out, celebrate the year, and have a Christmas drink and nibbles with us.

On Thursday 4th December, we would love to celebrate 2025 with you, and have a drink for Christmas.

Please join us in the courtyard, (inside if wet), at the Commodore Hotel from 2pm – 5pm.

There will be a jazz band playing, continuous canapes and platters, and a few Christmas drinks.
