Strength in Partnership Regional Ministry of Education and Canterbury|Chatham Islands Principals Forum

The Strength in Partnership Regional Ministry of Education and Canterbury|Chatham Islands Principals Forum 2026 will be held on Thursday, 30 April 2026 at Addington Raceway. The day is designed to be practical, solutions‑focused, and directly relevant to school leadership. The full programme, including breakout descriptions will be sent out shortly.

Developed with the Canterbury Principal Associations, the day focuses on strengthening our trusted partnerships, sharing insights, and supporting purposeful, connected leadership.

You will be able to choose from breakout sessions on leadership development, navigating governance, preparing for the unexpected, clarifying Learning Support roles, improving emergency responses, addressing attendance, and understanding school property, including its transition to the New Zealand School Property Agency.

Expo stands will be open during morning tea and lunch, offering opportunities to connect with sector agencies and Ministry teams. In the afternoon, a combined panel will respond to key themes from the day, followed by a networking session hosted by our associations. This event is designed to be practical, solutions-focused, and directly relevant to school leadership.

Who should attend: Principals, Deputy Principals, and Aspiring Principals (maximum two per school; additional spaces may open from 20 April depending on capacity).
